If you’ve been around here awhile, you know there’s one drink I love – green tea. Lately I’ve been on a matcha + collagen latte kick (matcha means powdered tea). Anything to boost antioxidants, increase metabolism, detox all while getting my daily collagen is a WIN for me. Did I mention the ‘calm alertness’ that comes from the caffeine in matcha? Goodbye coffee jitters!
Some matcha benefits:
• it’s high in antioxidants
• caffeine in matcha makes you much less jittery than coffee, and the levels are similar to about a cup of coffee
• studies have found it may ward off bad cholesterol and may play a part in cancer prevention due to high levels of EGCG
• increases metabolism
• it’s rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
